I bought a Bennington pontoon (tritoon) boat new in 2001, with a 2000 OPTI 150 engine and have had nothing but problems since, Frequent spark plug fouling on all plugs. Long story short I got a reman powerhead from mercury put on earlier this year. after 2 or 3 hours of use, idle speed or speeding to 4000 4500 rpm, then idling. There is no reduction in perfomance or fuel economy. As soon as you start the engine it will run, sputter and die. Got progressively worse, now won't troll or idle, starts then dies after a few seconds, and will only idle when I crank up to 1800+ RPms in neutral.
